Two weeks ago, a couple of my friends and I were lucky enough to go diving, snorkeling and fishing on the Great Barrier Reef. Not only were we lucky enough to take the trip, but lucky enough to do it on a beautiful private Catamaran.
The Crew:
Where I am currently living in Port Douglas, it is about a 5 hour sail from the marina.
We left around 8pm en route to Low Isles to spend the night. After about a 2 hour sail and a good nights sleep, Low Isles welcomed us in the morning with this amazing rainbow. Unfortunately this trip we didn't have any Irish with to show us the pot-o-gold.
Finally made it to the reef, enjoying a cuppa before the dives.
Here is a little info about the Great Barrier Reef for you. The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest reef system, comprised
of over 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands stretching over 2,600
kilometres (1,600 miles) over an area of approximately 344,400 square
kilometres (133,000 square miles).
This underwater botanical garden is one of the most diverse
ecosystems on earth. It is a living home to over 6,600 species of marine
plant and animal species including 1,500 species of fish, 4,000
species of molluscs and 360 types of coral.

We were also able to do a bit of fishing as well.
